When closed, Roman shades offer a soft, ornate covering for their windows, and you can embellish them with tails, trim, or slits. Mrs. Shammer needed fully protective shades as well as decorative ones, so she ordered her white Roman shades in blackout fabric. She also wanted a sheer boundary along the edges and matching embroidery highlighting each pleat.
